Surveys | |||
Surveys are another method of collecting
information about customers.
Filling in surveys can be tedious, so there is often some incentive such as entry to a prize draw if the customer completes the survey.

Sometimes a form needs to be filled in when a customer buys
an item for its warranty...another way
of gathering information about the customer.
Surveys can often ask questions which have nothing to do with the items purchased. Questions may be asked about life style, interests and personal situations (marriage, mortgage, insurance etc). These details can often be forwarded to other companies that may be interested and will send you information about goods or services they sell...stand by for a lot of junk mail! There is often a question about whether the customer gives permission for the details to be sent to other companies (sometimes in very small print and asked in a sneaky fashion) - read it carefully!

Some forms ask for your email address - if this is passed to other companies, it may be an invitation for lots of spam!

Answer questions like these and your details may be passed on to magazine companies, TV shopping networks etc..
