Competitions
Organisations can set up competitions, often on-line, that offer impressive prizes.

Entering the competition often involves giving personal information such as telephone numbers or email addresses. These may then be circulated among interested businesses who may cold-call, send junk mail or spam!

 

Regular competitions may be an incentive for customers to return. Eg. Newspapers run regular crossword or sudoku competitions to persuade people to keep on buying their paper.
