Secure Electronic Transactions | |||
Users of transactional websites need to feel that their data is secure, or
they will not use them.
A system called SET (Secure Electronic Transactions) was set up by some of the credit card companies to ensure a secure environment for the use of credit cards in conducting transactions over the Internet. Any data that is sent over the Internet will be encrypted - and will therefore be meaningless to any hacker that intercepts it. A symbol is usually displayed in the browser's window to indicate that you are using a secure web site.
