       0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 A B C D E F 10 11 12 13 14 15 etc... Each hex digit is a 4-bit binary number, which you can easily work out if you keep in your head the headings... 
 For example C would be... 8 + 4 ..in other words the 4-bit binary number 1100
