Transactional Web Site Study - [1] The web site
Assess (a) You will need to study a transactional web site. Become familiar with the topics below that you need to include in your portfolio, before you make your choice of web site.

The purpose of the site - What is its objective? Does it try to encourage visitors to buy goods or services? How successfully does it meet this objective?

Try to look at a number of different possible sites before you select the one you are going to study.
How is it structured? You will need to fully describe the site and examine how easy it is for customers to move around the site and find different items. Use plenty of screen shots to illustrate your study.
Is there a search facility?
Does the site use frames?
Suggest how it could be improved.

The goods/services it offers. You need to give a description of all the goods or services that can be bought on the site. You may need to categorise the items on a large site.

The product information provided. What information is given about the products? Is there enough detail? Are there clear pictures?

The types of transactions that can be made. What can a customer do on the site? (Buy goods, subscribe to a magazine, arrange life insurance) Do first time customers need to register? How can payments be made?
How easy is it to carry out a transaction?
