You can split the word SUSTAINABLE into 2:

SUSTAIN which means TO KEEP SOMETHING

ABILITY which means TO BE ABLE

SUSTAINABILITY means HAVING THE ABILITY TO KEEP SOMETHING

In Environment terms it means the we humans take from the planet what we need in a way that whatever we take will still be there for many generations to come. (Hopefully forever.)

At the present time:

• 26% of all humans on the planet Earth are using
• 86% of the planets natural resources.

Leaving:

• 74% of the human population of the planet with only
• 14% of the world’s natural resources.
